I don't blame you if 'Fields of Gold' gets stuck in your head when looking through these photos! That's what it felt like photographing Shaun and Carmen (better known as Mouse) on their wedding day - surrounded by fields of sunshine and gold under the most dramatic winter skies.
Mr and Mrs Liddle got married in a beautiful church in Caledon. After the ceremony we took a drive to the reception in Napier, taking the opportunity to stop off along the way for photos. These two were so game to climb fences and trek through fields to get the perfect shots!
What I learnt about the couple during the reception - they both have a very close bond to their family and friends... and they both have a thing for snails! In one of Shaun's first love letters to Mouse there was a picture of a snail and then she knew there was something special here. I also learnt that the mother of the bride took an interest (and developed an amazing talent) in baking and decorating cakes years ago for the sole reason so she could make her daughter's wedding cake one day!
A beautiful wedding celebration (that literally continued till breakfast the next morning) with so much joy and laughs, surrounded by close friends and family - it was so special to be part of this event!
