When I met Ryan and Sophie for coffee, a few weeks before the wedding, I got the feeling that I was in for some unexpected details on the day. Both of them being in the music industry, they curated their own perfect playlists for the day and had some music festival elements, including meal vouchers for each guest. The venue itself contributed to the atmosphere with its wide open spaces and tent accommodation.
From his shirt (apparently Ryan has a reputation for wearing bright shirts) to her flowers, from the decor to the guests, this was definitely one of the most colourful weddings I've had the privilege of documenting!
There was the unique centrepieces on the tables, or rather, the deconstructed centrepieces. They were piles of lego scattered between the seats which proved extremely entertaining later that evening. Another fantastic element came during the ceremony. After Ryan had given Sophie her ring, Sophie drew a ring for Ryan which he then had tattooed on.
Being the beginning of January and the middle of summer, a few guests found the heat unbearable and the swimming pool tempting - and honestly, there are few things better than spending a hot afternoon in the pool with a drink, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views! While the sun was sinking and the temperature cooling, the couple explored the beautiful Pat Busch venue before making their way to the party.
The wedding reception drinking game got things going in no time - after a couple of speeches and a great dinner, the drinks were flowing and feet were itching to get onto the dance floor. The couple and their guests danced late into the night and under the stars.
Congrats Ryan & Sophie and thanks for an amazing day!
