I love all the elements that make each wedding unique. Every bride and groom that come together bring their own special flavour, quirks and ideas to make their wedding day one of a kind. There's the dress, the decor, the venue (plus cake toppers and waffle toppings in this case) - all things that give the occasion it's own personality. Also, keep an eye out for Michael & his groomsmen's socks, an idea he got from his future Father-in-law.
One of the big things that stood out at Michael & Shanay's wedding was the music, if I can even call it that? The Singers were there to mark all the important moments during the couple's ceremony in the forest. The bridesmaids walked down the aisle to the sound of tall pine trees swaying in the wind and the a capella group's voices singing Blackbird by The Beatles. Then, as Shanay appeared, their rendition of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah left everyone speechless as the last notes were left hanging on the breeze and the couple were standing hand in hand. Enough to give you chills, make your heart stop and forget where you are!
After the I do's, guests headed to the dam for refreshments with a stunning mountain view. The couple stole away for some photos (the sunset was on FIRE) and soon it was time for the party to start! Michael & Shanay's first dance song was also not what you'd expect. Again, The Singers lined up as the newlyweds approached the dance floor, this time singing Run To You by Pentatonix. An unforgettable moment to end an unforgettable day.
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, Mr & Mrs Awood! (Or was it Cullen...??)
Thank you to Grace Hutton for second shooting!
