It's always such a treat to photograph a friend's wedding! I know a bit of their story and I get to see them grow together as husband and wife after the wedding day. And I get to join the party later in the evening!

Debbi walked down the aisle in silence. Well, not complete silence. There was an excited murmur and a few quiet 'oohs' and 'aahs' as she approached Jan. But the most striking sound was the creaking branches of the forest canopy. It was an incredibly beautiful moment as the breeze ushered Debbi to Jan's side and the forest breathed and the leaves rustled. No song could have given a more romantic and dramatic entrance.

We were fast approaching winter and there were threatening clouds overhead, but just when we needed it for photos there was a break of sun and we had the most magical light to explore the forest grounds. These two were such a joy to photograph - you can see they totally adore each other and have so much fun together. We had a some great laughs during the shoot!

Guests enjoyed some snacks, drinks and lawn games before Mr & Mrs De Waal joined them. The rain came down while everyone was nice and warm inside the venue. It was a cosy evening with a great meal, a fun game, awesome company and, of course, some crazy dance moves!

Thanks to Sean from Kelland Photography for second shooting!
